"It happened on October 1st. Some say it was a nightmare. Others say it was a terrible reality. But part of me, the part of me that believes in the mysterious, thinks it may have been fate. Something that not only happened, but that was supposed to happen; like it had been preordained from the beginning of time.
"I've been thinking a lot about this lately, about the hand of God at work in this world of darkness. The preacher says it must be, that the light will soon overcome the darkness, when the time is right. The Prince of Peace will return to set things straight. Then all will be well.
"I am not apposed to this proposition. It would be somethings to welcome, in my opinion. Some probably wouldn't. But I would.
"If this be so, if God is at work in His creation, making sure everything works according to His plan, casting seeds of light in the earth that will one day grow and bloom and pierce away the darkness, then I have nothing to fear, right? What happened on October 1st wasn't happenstance; it was the will of God, was it not?
"As I have already said, I have thought this over many times. Most would be ashamed of what I did. But I'm not. It's not like I did it alone. It's not like I decided to do it at all. It was God, right? Yes, it was God...
"As of yet, there is no one aware. The child is safe, but I dare not say where. He is tucked somewhere deep in the Woods, where ghosts are buried under the ground, under the gravestones hidden away in there for reasons I have yet to ascertain. Only I know the whereabouts. Only I could give the spot away. But I dare not, no, I dare not tell. Who knows if others could discover the secret once upon paper? Perhaps the spirits that live in this house would see and give it away.
"I have managed to keep the secret from all of them, including myself; for I am just part of me, remember. The other part is asleep while I labor. He will not awaken; he enjoys being held in the dark. I have sought to bring him to the light, to have him realize who he is. But he will not have it; he would rather be blind.
"No matter..."
